  • 12 pieces Fresh Jalapenos The star of the show! You can use milder peppers if you prefer less heat.
  • 8 oz Cream Cheese Gives a creamy base and smooth texture. Can swap for a dairy-free option.
  • 1 cup Cheddar Cheese, shredded Adds sharpness and extra cheesiness. Can mix with other cheeses.
  • 1 tsp Garlic Powder Brings a warm, savory flavor without overpowering.
  • 1 tsp Onion Powder Complements the garlic for a cozy taste.
  • 1/2 cup Bacon Bits Adds a crispy, salty layer of flavor. Optional.

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Carefully slice each jalapeno in half lengthwise and scoop out the seeds for less heat.
  • In a mixing bowl, combine cream cheese, cheddar, garlic and onion powders, and bacon bits. Mix until smooth.

Cooking

  • Fill each jalapeno half with the cheese mixture, packing it in generously.
  • Arrange the filled jalapenos on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until bubbly and golden brown.

Serving

  • Let the jalapenos cool for a few minutes before serving.
  • Serve warm, optionally garnished with fresh herbs or a drizzle of hot sauce.

Notes

Use gloves when handling jalapenos. The filling can be prepared a day in advance. Don't overcrowd baking sheet to allow for crisping up.
