  • 4 cups broth Use chicken, beef, or vegetable broth
  • 1 medium onion Diced
  • 2 cloves garlic Minced

Preparation

  • Chop the cabbage into bite-sized pieces.
  • Dice the onion and mince the garlic.
  • Rinse the rice until the water runs clear.

Cooking

  • In a large pot, brown the ground beef over medium heat until fully cooked.
  • Add the onion and garlic; sauté until fragrant.
  • Mix in the chopped cabbage, rice, broth, and tomato sauce.
  • Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for about 20 minutes, or until the cabbage is tender.

Serving

  • Ladle the soup into bowls.
  • Top with a dollop of sour cream or sprinkle with parsley if desired.
