  • 1 lb Brussels sprouts Trimmed and halved if large.
  • 1 medium Onion Diced, yellow onion preferred.
  • 2 cloves Garlic Minced.

Cooking Essentials

  • 2 tbsp Olive oil For sautéing; can use avocado oil.
  • 1 tsp Salt To taste.
  • 1 tsp Pepper To taste.
  • 1/2 tsp Red pepper flakes For heat; adjust to taste.
  • 1 tbsp Lemon juice Freshly squeezed, adds brightness.

Preparation

  • Wash and trim the Brussels sprouts, cutting larger ones in half.
  • Dice the onion and mince the garlic.
  • Season the ground turkey with salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes.

Cooking

  • Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  • Add the onion, cooking until soft, about 3-4 minutes.
  • Stir in the garlic, then add the ground turkey. Cook until browned, around 5-7 minutes.
  • Add Brussels sprouts and cook until tender, about 5-6 minutes.
  • Drizzle with lemon juice just before serving.

Serving

  • Plate your skillet dish, garnishing with extra lemon if desired.

Notes

This dish is great for meal prep. Keep leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 4 days. For a creamy texture without the cream, consider stirring in Greek yogurt or silken tofu just before serving.
