Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Grease a baking pan or line it with parchment paper.
  • In a large mixing bowl, melt the unsalted butter and mix in the sugar until well combined.
  • Add the eggs, one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Pour in the vanilla extract.

Cooking

  • In another bowl, whisk together all-purpose flour, unsweetened cocoa powder, and salt.
  • Gradually mix the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients, stirring until just combined.
  • If desired, fold in the chocolate chips.
  • Pour the brownie batter into the prepared baking pan and smooth the top.
  • Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean or with a few moist crumbs.

Serving

  • Allow the brownies to cool in the pan for 10 minutes.
  • Lift them out and let cool completely on a wire rack.
  • Cut into squares and serve warm or at room temperature.

Notes
