  • 15 oz Kidney Beans Rinsed and drained.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Chop the onion, carrot, and bell pepper into bite-sized pieces.
  • Mince the garlic as finely as you can.
  • Rinse and drain the kidney beans.

Cooking

  • In a large pot, brown the ground beef over medium heat until cooked through (about 5-7 minutes).
  • Add onions, garlic, carrots, and bell pepper. Cook until soft, about 5-6 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  • Stir in diced tomatoes, kidney beans, beef broth, cumin, chili powder, sugar, salt, and pepper.

Serving

  • Bring the chili to a gentle simmer and cook for 25 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  • Taste and adjust seasonings if necessary.
  • Ladle the chili into bowls, and add your favorite toppings!
