Wet Ingredients

  • 1 cup Milk (Room Temperature) Keeps the muffins moist and tender.
  • 1/2 cup Unsalted Butter (Melted and Cooled) Adds richness and a buttery flavor.
  • 2 large Eggs (Room Temperature) Provides stability and moisture; helps in rising.
  • 1/4 cup Coarse Sugar (Optional) Adds a sweet crunch on top.

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • Line a muffin tin with paper liners or grease it lightly.
  • Gather all your ingredients on the counter.

Mixing and Baking

  • In a large bowl, whisk together dry ingredients: flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  • In another bowl, mix the wet ingredients: milk, melted butter, and eggs until combined.
  • Pour the wet mixture into the dry ingredients, stirring gently until just combined—don’t overmix!
  • Scoop the batter into the muffin tin, filling each cup about two-thirds full.
  • Sprinkle with coarse sugar if desired.

Baking and Serving

  • Bake for 18–20 minutes, or until golden brown and a toothpick comes out clean.
  • Let them cool in the tin for about 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack.
  • Enjoy warm or at room temperature with your favorite spread!

Notes

Don’t overmix the batter to avoid dense muffins. Store in an airtight container to maintain freshness. Can freeze for up to 3 months.
