  • 1 cup cucumber Diced for freshness.

  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper Adds depth to the flavor.
  • 1/4 cup fresh cilantro Chopped for garnish and flavor.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Prepare the shrimp by bringing a large bowl of water to a gentle boil.
  • Add the shrimp to the boiling water and cook until they turn pink and opaque, about 2-3 minutes.
  • Remove the shrimp from the boiling water and immediately transfer them to an ice bath to cool.
  • While the shrimp are cooling, dice the avocados, tomatoes, cucumber, red onion, and jalapeños.

Mixing

  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the cooled shrimp, diced avocado, tomatoes, cucumber, red onion, and jalapeños.
  • Pour lime zest, lime juice, lemon juice, and orange juice over the mixture.
  • Season with salt, black pepper, and chopped cilantro; mix gently to combine without mashing the avocados.
  • Taste and add hot sauce for more heat if desired, adjusting seasoning as necessary.

Chilling and Serving

  • Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and let the ceviche chill in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes to allow flavors to meld.
  • Serve chilled, optionally garnished with additional cilantro and lime wedges.

Notes

For optimal flavor, let the ceviche rest longer in the refrigerator. Use chilled serving dishes to maintain freshness.
