Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Grease or line an 8x8 inch baking pan with parchment paper.
  • In a food processor, combine the black beans and avocado, and blend until smooth.

Cooking

  • Add cocoa powder, honey or maple syrup, vanilla extract, baking powder, and salt to the blended mixture.
  • Process again until fully combined, scraping the sides as needed.
  • Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and spread evenly.
  • Bake for 20-25 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.

Serving

  • Allow the brownies to cool in the pan for about 10 minutes.
  • Lift the brownies out of the pan using the parchment paper and cool completely on a wire rack.
  • Once cooled, cut into squares and serve.

Notes

Make sure the avocado is ripe for the best texture. Let the brownies cool completely for easier slicing. Consider adding chopped nuts for crunch.
