Seasoning

  • 1 teaspoon ground ginger Adds warmth and spice
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder Robust flavor
  • 1 tablespoon fresh ginger Zesty flavor
  • 2 cloves garlic Strong aromatic punch
  • 1/2 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes Adjust for heat preference

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Prepare the ice bath by filling a large bowl with ice and cold water.

Cooking

  • Fill a large pot with water and bring to a rolling boil.
  • Add the green beans and cook at a full boil for 3-4 minutes until bright green but still crisp.
  • Drain the beans and immediately submerge them in the ice bath to stop the cooking process.
  • Once cool to the touch, drain the beans and set aside in a large bowl.

Serving

  • In a medium bowl, whisk together all remaining marinade ingredients until well combined.
  • Pour the marinade over the green beans and mix to coat.
  • Serve immediately or allow to marinate for at least 30 minutes for best flavor.

Notes

For maximum flavor, allow the salad to marinate for at least half an hour before serving. Adjust the amount of red pepper flakes to your heat preference.
