Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  • In another bowl, mix together the melted butter, milk, and egg until well combined.
  • Gradually add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients, mixing until a soft dough forms.
  • Turn the dough onto a floured surface and knead gently until smooth, about 1 minute.

Cooking/Assembling

  • Roll out the dough into a rectangle about ½ inch thick.
  • Spread apple butter evenly across the surface of the dough.
  • Sprinkle cinnamon over the apple butter.
  • Starting from one edge, tightly roll the dough into a log shape.
  • Slice the roll into 1 ½-inch thick pieces and place them in a greased baking dish.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes or until golden brown.

Serving

  • Remove the rolls from the oven and allow them to cool for a few minutes.
  • While they cool, whisk together powdered sugar and milk to create a smooth icing.

Notes
