  • 1 tablespoon Light soy sauce For umami richness.
  • 1 tablespoon Dark soy sauce For depth of flavor.

For Garnishing

  • 2 tablespoons Sesame seeds For garnishing, providing crunch.
  • 1/4 cup Chopped spring onions (scallions) Adds freshness and pop of color.

For Serving

  • 2 cups Boiled or egg fried rice Perfect accompaniment to soak up the flavors.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Trim any excess fat from the chicken thighs and cut them into bite-sized pieces.
  • In a large bowl, mix the cornflour, salt, pepper, garlic powder, and paprika.
  • Coat the chicken pieces thoroughly in the cornflour mixture.
  • In a separate bowl, whisk together the oils, rice vinegar, honey, sweet chili sauce, ketchup, light brown sugar, light soy sauce, and dark soy sauce to create your marinade.

Cooking

  • Preheat your air fryer to 400°F (200°C).
  • Lightly grease the air fryer basket with cooking spray.
  • Place the coated chicken pieces in a single layer in the air fryer basket.
  • Cook the chicken for 10-12 minutes until golden brown and crispy, shaking the basket halfway through.

Serving

  • Remove the chicken carefully and toss it in the marinade to coat.
  • Transfer the glazed chicken to a serving plate.
  • Garnish with sesame seeds and chopped spring onions, and serve hot with boiled or egg fried rice.

Notes

For extra crunch, use a light spray of cooking oil on the coated chicken before air frying. Store leftovers in airtight containers for up to 3 days.
