Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat your air fryer to 380°F (190°C).
  • In a bowl, beat the egg and set it aside.
  • In another bowl, combine breadcrumbs, parmesan cheese, and Italian seasoning.
  • Coat each chicken breast with the egg, allowing excess to drip off.
  • Press each chicken breast into the breadcrumb mixture until well-coated.

Cooking

  • Place the coated chicken breasts in the air fryer basket, ensuring they are not touching.
  • Cook for 10 minutes, then flip each chicken breast.
  • Cook for an additional 5-7 minutes or until the chicken is golden brown and reaches an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C).
  • Remove the chicken and spoon marinara sauce over each piece.
  • Top with mozzarella cheese and cook for another 2-3 minutes until the cheese is melted.

Serving

  • Carefully remove the chicken from the air fryer.
  • Garnish with extra parmesan cheese or fresh herbs if desired.
  • Serve hot, perhaps alongside pasta or salad.

Notes

For extra crunch, consider double coating the chicken with breadcrumbs. Allow the chicken to rest for a couple of minutes before serving to retain juices. Prep the chicken the night before for a quicker cooking time.
