  • 3 cloves garlic Brings a pungent aroma.
  • 1 tbsp honey Offers natural sweetness; can substitute with maple syrup.
  • 2 tbsp fresh rosemary Adds aromatic notes.
  • 2 tbsp fresh basil Introduces a sweet and slightly peppery flavor.
  • 1 tsp sea salt Enhances the overall flavor.
  • 1/2 tsp ground black pepper Adds mild heat.

Main Ingredients

  • 4 pieces boneless and skinless chicken breasts Main lean protein.

For Grilling

  • 1 tbsp Oil Used for greasing the grill.

Instructions

Preparation

  • Pound the chicken to achieve even thickness.
  • In a large bowl or resealable bag, whisk together balsamic vinegar, lemon juice, olive oil, minced garlic, honey (if using), rosemary, basil, salt, and pepper.
  • Place the chicken in the marinade and toss until well coated. Squeeze the air out of the bag if using one.
  • Let the chicken marinate for at least 30 minutes or up to 4 hours in the refrigerator.

Cooking

  • Preheat your grill to medium-high (375 – 450°F) and grease the grates with oil.
  • Remove the chicken from the marinade and discard the marinade.
  • Grill the chicken for about 3 to 4 minutes on each side until cooked through, reaching an internal temperature of 165°F.
  • Once grilled, allow the chicken to rest for 5 to 10 minutes before slicing or serving.

Notes

For better flavor infusion, consider marinating the chicken overnight. Always pound the chicken for even cooking, and let it rest after grilling for juicier chicken. Avoid rushing the grilling process to prevent charring and use quality ingredients for the best results.
