Ingredients

Base Ingredients
  • 1 cup salted butter Adds a rich, creamy flavor; you can substitute with unsalted butter if preferred.
  • 1 1/4 cups sugar Light brown sugar can add a nice caramel flavor if you want a twist.
  • 8-9 sheets graham crackers Make sure they're in good condition to hold the topping.
Topping Ingredients
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips Feel free to go with dark chocolate for a richer taste.
  • 1 cup white chocolate chips You can use almond bark if you'd like.
  • Sprinkles Choose your favorite colors for festive appeal.

Method

Preparation
  1. Line a quarter-sheet pan (9x13) with parchment paper and snugly layer the graham crackers at the bottom.
  2. Melt together the salted butter and sugar in a saucepan over medium heat. Whisk gently until it bubbles and reaches a light caramel color, about 8-10 minutes.
  3. Pour the caramel over the graham crackers, spreading it evenly with a butter knife or offset spatula.
  4. For a crunchier toffee, place the baking tray into a preheated 400°F oven for about 6 minutes.
Topping
  1. Remove from oven and sprinkle semi-sweet and white chocolate chips on top. Wait for 5 minutes for the chocolate to soften.
  2. Spread the melted chocolate evenly across the surface.
  3. Finish with sprinkles and let the toffee cool for at least an hour.
Serving
  1. Once cool, break the toffee into pieces and serve.

Notes

Store in an airtight container for about a week or freeze with parchment paper layers between pieces. Consider adding a sprinkle of sea salt or flavored chocolate chips for variations.
